Accenture Buys Whalar & CAA Builds a $250M War Chest

The Digital Dealflow

Good Morning,

Accenture agreed to acquire creator and social agency Whalar from Whalar Group, folding Whalar's 170-person team into Accenture Song; terms were undisclosed but believed to be around $500M. Co-founder Neil Waller called it the industry's largest creator economy transaction. The establishment capital did not stop there: CAA reunited with former majority owner TPG to launch Compound Creative Holdings, a $250M holding company built to acquire, operate, and grow creator-economy businesses, run by CAA Evolution's Tucker Brown (who steered Dude Perfect's $100M-plus raise).

Meanwhile, in Australia, ASX-listed Vinyl Group bought two culture properties in 48 hours, picking up Pedestrian Group (PEDESTRIAN.TV, 9.4M monthly) from Nine and Time Out Australia from Time Out Group, both for nominal consideration. On the AI-infrastructure front, Rumble's exchange offer for Northern Data reached final results, with roughly 85% of shares tendered, pushing the video platform's market cap to near $3.6B and giving it a GPU-rental and compute arm backed by Tether. And three years after spending a reported $400M and fighting the FTC to buy VR fitness app Supernatural, Meta is handing it back, spinning it out as an independent company led by its original founders.

With Cannes Lions and VidCon landing on top of each other this month, LinkedIn can't decide whether the creator economy gets built on a French beach or in an Anaheim convention hall- why not just expense both? If you are going to VidCon, join us!
